On the Feast of Saint John Neumann, January 05, Archbishop Perez wrote a Pastoral letter to all of us here in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. In the letter the Archbishop tells us about his vision for the Church of Philadelphia for the next 20 years and that he does not want to close any of our 214 parishes. He wants us to be missionary disciples and eventually plant missionary “hubs” around the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The purpose of initiative is to personally invite a person back to Mass and confession. In other words, one of the 83% of Catholics to come back home. The Archbishop states that there needs to be change and he knows not everyone likes change. He believes with all of us living as missionary disciples we can do amazing work in evangelization among our brothers and sisters who for whatever reason are not participating in Sunday Mass.  This initiative is also known as The Fourth Way initiative.
